King of the Downs

I have been training hard for the last year and the culmination of this was me taking part in a 115 mile cycle ride organised by Evans Cycles on May 23rd. I have never ridden this far before, so wasn't even sure I would manage it. You may remember the day, it was when summer eventually arrived and the temperatures crept over 25 degrees C for the first time. I am particularly proud of this photo as I had managed to cycle up one of the steepest hills in Kent. To be honest I did stop to take a breather and a drink half way up, but I didn't walk either.
Anyway I am delighted to say that I finished the ride in reasonable shape albeit very far down the field. 115 miles, 9 hours riding and 9,000 feet of climbing. I now feel ready for whatever Scotland has to throw at me!
